West Virginia University will welcome more than 2,500 prospective Mountaineers and their families over the next two weekends as part of Discover WVU Days.

Discover WVU Days are comprehensive open houses for students interested in becoming Mountaineers. They will take place on Nov. 8 and Nov. 15. Students and their families will experience the endless possibilities WVU offers to further their education and future careers.

The moment students step onto campus, they will feel the passion and pride of the Mountaineer family. The campus spirit will be palpable as Discover WVU Day kicks off with a welcome from President Gordon Gee, performances from a diverse array of WVU ensembles and student organizations and a greeting from the Mountaineer Mascot.

Participants will spend the morning at the academic college of their choice and have the opportunity to interact with professors, advisors and current students to learn more about their intended majors.

The duration of the day is entirely flexible, allowing prospective students and their families to make their own schedule and discover WVU in their own way. Options include sessions on Admissions, Financial Aid and Scholarships, Housing, Career Services, Mountaineer Parents Club, Adventure WV, and the Honors College a student panel; campus tours; and visiting a residence hall.

Prospective students and families will get a feel for student life by using the City Pass for discounts at local restaurants and shops, athletics tickets, free bowling and movies at the Mountainlair Student Union as part of the award-winning WVUpAll Night program and access to the Student Recreation Center.
