The West Virginia University Strategic Planning Council invites members of the greater Morgantown area community to share their suggestions on The Strategic Plan for the Future at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13, at Erickson Alumni Center’s Barnette Room.

WVU President James P. Clements outlined the draft plan during his Oct. 11 State of the University address, highlighting five goals intended to move the state’s flagship institution into the next decade.

Seven campus forums in Morgantown, Keyser, Jackson’s Mill and Montgomery have been held since that time to gather further input and feedback that will help to shape and direct the University’s future.

“We’ve heard from a variety of constituents including faculty, staff, students, parents, alumni and policymakers,” said Nigel Clark, chair of the Council. “Now we’d like to hear from members of the community about ways to advance WVU’s goals and engage with the citizens of Morgantown.”

In addition to Dr. Clark, other members of the Strategic Planning Council and WVU administration are expected to be on hand at Monday’s forum.

The strategic plan will be delivered to President Clements by year’s end for implementation in 2011.
