West Virginia University’s Safety and Health Extension Service is offering three U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration classes in August throughout the region.

On Aug. 17-20 OSHA class #501, Trainer Courses for General Industry, will be held in Richmond, Va.

Also on Aug. 17-20 OSHA class #500, “Trainer Courses for Construction Safety” will be offered in Roanoke, Va. The class will also be offered Aug. 10-13 in Morgantown, W.Va.

The four-day courses are designed for private sector workers who are interested in teaching the 10- and 30-hour construction safety or general industry safety and health outreach programs to their employees and other interested groups.

The courses will cover OSHA construction standards, policies, and regulations.

Seating is limited and preregistration is required two weeks prior to the course start date. For priority registration, please sign up by Tuesday, Aug. 3 for the classes in Virginia or by Tuesday, July 27 for the class in Morgantown. Tuition is $750.00 a person.

Customized group training sessions are also available on a contractual basis for employers wishing to train their workforce.
