Members of the West Virginia University Figure Skating Club will direct and appear in performances of ‘Princess Fairy Tales on Ice’ on Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, March 29 at the Morgantown Ice Arena.

The show will feature versions of five legendary fairy tales: Cinderella, Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid and Snow White.

Tickets to the performance—which will begin at 4:30 p.m. on March 28 and 5:30 p.m. on March 29—are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. WVU students pay a discounted rate of $6 in advance and $8 at the door. Children under three are admitted free of charge. Presale tickets are available at the Morgantown Ice Arena, Slight Indulgence and Pinocchio’s Books and Toys.

“Every time a WVU figure skater directs a show or steps on the ice, it’s worth seeing,” said Mark Brazaitis, a professor in the Department of English, who also serves as the club’s faculty advisor and show producer. “These are tremendously talented and creative young women. The show will be superb. People of all ages will love it.”

All proceeds will benefit the Mason-Dixon Figure Skating Club, a Morgantown-based organization dedicated to offering young people the chance to perform in shows and exhibitions as well as to test at various skill levels through United States Figure Skating. Members of the Mason-Dixon Figure Skating Club, as well as members of BOPARC’s “Skate With Us” program, will also perform in the show.
