Members of West Virginia University fraternities and sororities will show off their dance moves at the annual Partywalk Competition on Saturday, Oct. 23.

The Partywalk Competition at WVU has been a tradition of the Greeks of the National Pan-Hellenic Council, Inc. for many years. The men of the Pi Mu chapter of the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity started the tradition at WVU 16 years ago.

The event, which will begin at 6 p.m. in the gym of Stansbury Hall, will consist of dance routines called “strolls.”

“Strolls are organized dance movement that involve signature moves and signs from each organization,” said Jacqueline Dooley, program coordinator for the Greek and international students of WVU’s Student Organization Services. “Even though the event is a competition amongst every organization, it is a friendly environment where all Greeks can unify.”

Doors will open for the event at 5 p.m. Tickets will go on sale on Monday, Oct. 18 at the National Pan-Hellenic Council booth in the Mountainlair. Tickets will be $7 in advance, and $10 at the door.
