West Virginia University’s Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority is presenting its annual ‘Skee Week’ March 15-19.
Everyone is invited to attend the events, which include a lecture, BINGO, trivia competition and a pageant.
The schedule is:
• Monday, March 15: Technology Day in room G5, Chitwood from 7-9 p.m. Students will be taught how to “Express Yourself Safely and Properly” while on social networks.
• Tuesday, March 16: Informational session in Monongahela room of the Mountainlair from 7-9 p.m. This is a ladies only event, and is a great time to come and find out about the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the ladies of the Eta Omicron Chapter at WVU.
• Wednesday, March 17: BINGO night in room A of Hatfields from 8- 10 p.m.
• Thursday, March 18: Eta Omicron Step & Stroll in front of JACS in the Mountainlair from 1- 2 p.m. Also, the IVY Bowl trivia competition will be held in the Shenandoah room from 7- 9 p.m. Contestants will be competing for free prizes and the title of “IVY Bowl 2010 Champions.”
• Friday, March 19: Man of the Year Pageant 2010 in room G24 of Eiesland Hall from 8-10 p.m. The annual AKA pageant where young men compete for scholarships using their talents, brains and good looks. There will be plenty of refreshments, door prizes, and a 50/50 raffle. Admission will be $8 at the door.
Ticket sales for the Man of the Year Pageant will occur in the Mountainlair throughout the week from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets purchased during the week will be discounted $3.
“Skee week is an excellent opportunity to formulate ties and bonds,” said Jacqueline Dooley, program coordinator for Greek and international student organizations.
