Skiing, snowshoeing and exploring will all be part of the West Virginia University Outdoor Recreation Center’s 2010 winter break trip to Lake Placid, N.Y.

WVU students, faculty, staff and affiliated employees and family members are invited to take part in the trip, scheduled for Jan. 3-9.

“This is a great opportunity to experience Lake Placid in the Adirondack Mountains, the location of two winter Olympics and a destination for all winter sports,” said Brett Hagerty, program coordinator for WVU’s Outdoor Recreation Center.

The trip includes downhill skiing at Whiteface and Gore Mountain, cross country skiing, snowshoeing and visits to the town of Lake Placid.

The cost of the trip is $625 and includes lodging in a hostel, transportation, area passes, gear, instruction and food.

To register, stop by the Outdoor Recreation Center in the free zone of the WVU Student Recreation Center.

The registration deadline is Nov. 20.
