A businessman who has been successful in endeavors ranging from pharmaceutical research to golf tournaments will speak on “Capitalism: The Unknown Ideal and Daring to Dream” Thursday, Sept. 10, at 6 p.m. at the Waterfront Place Hotel.
Don Panoz will give the talk, which is free and open to the public, as part of the West Virginia University College of Business and Economics Wells Fargo Distinguished Lecture Series.
Panoz is cofounder of Mylan Laboratories, one of the world’s leading producers of generic drugs, and founder of Elan Corp., an Irish pharmaceutical research and drug delivery company.
He created the American Le Mans Series races and Panoz Motor Sports Group and also founded Chateau Elan Winery and resort and the Sarazen World Open golf tournament.
The Wells Fargo lecture series brings experienced business, government, non-profit and other leaders to WVU to share their experiences and to provide students insights from their careers.
