Imagine having 50 plus brothers and sisters to share the college years with: Toga social on Friday night. Football game Saturday. Philanthropy event on Sunday.

West Virginia University’s National Panhellenic Conference, Interfraternity Council and National Pan-Hellenic Council are hosting the annual Meet the Greeks event on the Mountainlair Green on Tuesday (Sept. 1) from 4-6 p.m. In the case of inclement weather, the event will be held in the Mountainlair ballrooms.

Meet the Greeks allows students interested in Greek life to learn more about philanthropies, activities and the different opportunities Greek life may open up without having to commit to recruitment.

“Meet the Greeks provides chapters the invaluable opportunity to meet and interact with potential new members in a fun and relaxed environment,” said Ashley Staggers, student program advisor for Panhellenic and WVU sororities and fraternities.

All WVU-affiliated sororities and fraternities will display booths to represent their organization. Typically the organizations’ president and recruitment chair are on hand to answer any questions. Members of the organizations will also be in attendance to support WVU’s Greek system.

“Meet the Greeks offers students a quick laid-back overview of WVU’s Greek life,” said Claire Barth, a senior public relations major from Charleston, and president of NPC at WVU.

All students interested in going through fall recruitment are invited to attend and learn more about WVU Greek life. WVAQ will broadcast live from the event. Refreshments will be served.
