Conversations with Cops, an ongoing multicultural program series that seeks to foster positive communication between Morgantown law enforcement and the cultural communities that create West Virginia University, will be held on Tuesday (Aug. 30) in the Mountainlair Commons Area from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The program, entitled “Learn Your Student Rights and Meet Local Law Enforcement,” will include an introduction to local law enforcement agencies, a discussion of student rights, and conclude with a Q&A session.

Representatives will be present from the Morgantown Police Department, the WVU University Police, the WV State Police, the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, and WVU’s Equity Assurance Title IX Office.

The event will be moderated by Jason Burns of the WVU Office of Multicultural Programs, Eric Jordan of the WVU Center for Black Culture & Research, and Mariana Matthews of the Title IX Office.
