The Charleston Gazette-Mail made an error in its initial reporting of the tuition increase approved during the West Virginia University Board of Governors meeting on Friday (June 17).

The newspaper’s headline incorrectly stated that the increase was to be nearly 9 percent instead of 5 percent. The newspaper quickly corrected the online version, but the print edition for Saturday morning (June 18) had already been printed.

The Saturday (June 18) evening edition will include a corrected report and headline.

The Sunday (June 19) “state” edition of the Charleston Gazette-Mail also will contain the correction in the same location as original report.
