Mountaineer fans following the men’s basketball team to Brooklyn, NY for NCAA Tournament games will have an opportunity to come together for a meet and greets hosted by the West Virginia University Alumni Association and Mountaineer Athletic Club.

On Friday, March 18, a Mountaineer Meet and Greet will take place beginning at 4 p.m. at The Montrose (47 5th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY). The social, which is free and open to the public, will feature food from Montrose’s menu, beverage specials and great Mountaineer camaraderie.

Alternatively, Mountaineer fans can also meet before the game at 200 Fifth (200 Fifth Avenue, Brooklyn, NY) which will also be open to the public and feature specials for the NCAA game. Kickoff at 200 Fifth will start at 4 p.m. Friday.

“It’s already been a great year for Mountaineer Basketball and topping it off with a trip to the NCAA Tournament is incredibly exciting. We saw a record number of alumni and fans in Kansas City at the Big 12 Tournament and we’re expecting to see as many or more in Brooklyn this weekend,” says Vice President, WVU Alumni Relations, Sean Frisbee. “There is no better basketball in the land to watch than Press Virginia and I can’t wait to see what’s ahead. See you in NY!”

Fans in Brooklyn without game tickets are encouraged to remain at Montrose or 200 Fifth after the meet and greet to watch the game. The venues have multiple televisions located throughout their facilities and will feature a live broadcast during the game.

Hundreds of WVU alumni, friends and fans are expected to be on hand for the NCAA tournament games. Should the Mountaineers advance on Sunday, a similar Meet and Greet is planned three hours prior to tipoff on Sunday at these locations.

For those alumni and fans not traveling to Brooklyn, many chapters are hosting game watches in their respective areas. Visit cal.wvu.edu to find the nearest location.
