Mon Hills Records will be hosting a 1920’s themed event on Thurs., March 3, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the Madison Center. The event has been organized for the center’s residents, friends and staff.

Scheduled to perform is the High Street Jazz Band, who will play the songs from their Mon Hills Records album, “When the Morning Comes,” as well as classic oldies favorites.

The Roaring 20’s event will also feature performances by WVU Swing Dance team, who will dance to the rhythm of that era’s style.

The Madison Center, a component of Genesis Healthcare, is a short and long-term therapy center that provides nursing, medical, and rehabilitation services to their patients and residents. With over 500 centers across the United States, the Madison Center offers services for orthopedic, dialysis, Alzheimer’s Disease, ventilator care, assisted living, and senior living facilities.

“The Roaring 20’s event with the High Street Jazz Band will be a great opportunity for Mon Hills Records to reach out to the local community residents by providing a creative form of entertainment that might not ordinarily be accessible to them,” Mon Hills Records Public Relations Manager Hannah Harless said.

The Mon Hills Records staff hopes that the musical and dance performances will take their guests back to the golden age of the 1920’s. Attendance is free and although 1920’s attire is not required, it is strongly encouraged to give the event a real 20’s feel. Come ready to have a great time!

Mon Hills Records is an independent record label and a professional component of the Music Industry Program at the West Virginia University’s College of Creative Arts, and operated by WVU students under the direction of Prof. Darko Velichkovski.
