The Mountaineer football team is headed to the Motel 6 Cactus Bowl to kickoff 2016 in a Jan. 2 match-up against Arizona State, and WVU is sponsoring a host of events for fans making the trip to Phoenix.

Friday, Jan. 1
Join the WVU Alumni Association, WVU Foundation and Mountaineer Athletic Club at 5 p.m. MT at the Mountaineer Meet and Greet at the team headquarters located at the Hyatt at Gainey Ranch (7500 E. Doubletree Ranch Rd., Scottsdale). Fans can grab a WVU giveaway (while supplies last), participate in the WVU IMG Bowl Special Radio Show live broadcast hosted by WVU play-by-play announcer Tony Caridi and enjoy performances by the Pride of West Virginia Pep Band, the Mountaineer Mascot and WVU cheerleaders.

Saturday, Jan. 2
Game day activities will begin at 11 a.m. MT with the National Bank of Arizona Fiesta Bowl Parade (N. Central Ave. and W. Montebello Ave., Phoenix). The Pride of West Virginia will perform in the acclaimed parade, which is hailed as Arizona’s largest single-day spectator event. General admission is free; reserved seating can be purchased here.

The Cox Oasis Cactus Bowl Pre-Game Party (S. 4th St. and E. Buchanan St., Phoenix), follows the parade at 2:30 p.m. MT. The cost of admission is $25 in advance ($30 game day) and includes a plated meal, soft drinks, giveaways, interactive games, jumbotrons, a dedicated WVU section and a performance by the Mountaineer Mascot, WVU cheerleaders and the Pride of West Virginia Pep Band. Game day parking is available near the stadium. Parking passes can be purchased here.

The Mountaineers face off against the Sun Devils at Chase Field (401 E. Jefferson St., Phoenix) on Saturday, Jan. 2. The game will be televised on ESPN. Kickoff is set for 8:15 p.m. MT/10:15 p.m. ET. Tickets are still available and can be purchased here.
