The West Virginia University Mountaineer football team has officially accepted an invitation to play PAC 12 opponent Arizona State in the 27th annual Motel 6 Cactus Bowl in Phoenix, AZ. Kickoff is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016 at 8:15 MST (10:15 p.m. EST) at Chase Field.

Mountaineer alumni, fans and friends are invited to join the WVU Alumni Association and Mountaineer Athletic Club for a special travel opportunity to Phoenix. PrimeSport is offering a travel package which includes accommodations for two nights at the Hyatt Regency in Phoenix for Friday, Jan. 1 check-in and Sunday, Jan. 3 departure. Packages can be customized to add additional nights if desired.

Alumni and fans also have the option of experiencing Phoenix’s culture at discounted rates, including the Phoenix Zoo, Phoenix Aquarium, hot air balloon tours, US Airways Center, Chase Field tours and scenic tours of the area.

West Virginia is no stranger to playing in the desert during bowl season. The Mountaineers played in the Cactus Bowl when it was known as the Insight.com Bowl in 1998. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
