Members of the West Virginia University Figure Skating Club will be the headlining performers at the ‘Winter Wonderland on Ice’ show scheduled for 4:15 p.m. at the Morgantown Ice Arena on Sunday, Dec. 6.

The show will feature WVU Figure Skating Club members, including club president Katherine “Kasey” Smith, and more than a dozen local skaters, who will perform solos and duets to holiday songs.

Smith, a senior multiple disciplinary studies major from Naperville, Illinois, will be joined by WVU Figure Skating Club members Gina Geils, a senior early childhood psychology major from Bensenville, Illinois; Britainy Schmid, a freshman Industrial Engineering major from Pittsburgh; Courtney Ann Caldwell, a junior psychology and social work major from Evansville, Indiana; and Shaun Adams, a senior architecture major at Fairmont State from Grantsville, Maryland.

“Winter Wonderland on Ice” is directed by former WVU Figure Skating Club president Angela Barclay. Barclay, of Somerset, Pennsylvania, earned her master’s degree in nursing from WVU.

“WVU has an incredible group of skaters, and it will be a terrific show,” said Mark Brazaitis. Brazaitis is a professor in the Department of English who also serves as the club’s faculty advisor and show producer. “People of all ages will delight in the artistry, athleticism, and cheerful, festive music.”

Tickets to the performance are $5 for adults, $3 for WVU students, and $3 for children 12 and under and are available at the door.

Proceeds will benefit the Mason-Dixon Figure Skating Club, a Morgantown-based organization dedicated to offering young people the chance to perform in shows and exhibitions as well as to test at various skill levels through United States Figure Skating. Members of the Mason-Dixon Figure Skating Club will also perform in the show.

The Morgantown Ice Arena is located at 1001 Mississippi Street, near White Park.
