Mountaineer fans from around the world will celebrate their pride and passion for West Virginia University during Mountaineer Nation Day on Saturday (Oct. 3).

This year’s celebration will take place on the day the football team takes on Oklahoma. Fans have registered 677 parties in 50 states and 15 different countries. It is the first time in Mountaineer Nation Day history that there has been a watch party in all 50 states.

Use #WVUMND on your social media posts to join in the conversation with fellow Mountaineers from all over the world on Saturday.

“Mountaineer Nation Day is special, because it allows fans to participate in the promotion no matter where they live. When there is a Gold Rush or Stripe the Stadium game, unless you are in the stadium you don’t really get to participate. On Mountaineer Nation Day fans all across the world are connecting with other fans through social media,” said Nikki Goodenow, assistant director of WVU Trademark Licensing.
