The U.S. Supreme Court has begun hearing arguments for and against the case for nationwide gay marriage. West Virginia University’s Eberly College of Arts and Sciences has two experts available to help break down the story.

Brian Jara is a senior lecturer in the department of Women’s and Gender Studies and also serves as co-chair on the University’s Commission For LGBTQ Equity. He regularly teaches courses on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer studies.

Scott Crichlow is department chair and associate professor in the department of Political Science. He is available to discuss the political arguments for and against gay marriage, as well as provide history and context from previous gay marriage-related cases. He also serves on the LGBTQ Equity commission.
