Spring is not only a beautiful time on the West Virginia University campus, it is also a time when many alumni and friends return for a visit. This weekend, the WVU Alumni Association is gearing up for a wide range of activities to engage and unite its graduates and volunteers.

The Association will host its annual Alumni Leaders Institute on Saturday morning at The Erickson Alumni Center. More than 75 chapter and constituent group leaders and volunteers from 16 states and the District of Columbia are expected to return to campus for institute. The event provides attendees the opportunity to network with fellow Mountaineers, learn about new WVU programs, connect with university administrators and identify service opportunities for their chapters.

The Association’s Black Alumni constituent group also has a weekend of activities planned for alumni and friends. Events feature opportunities for grads to reconnect to their alma mater, recruit and mentor students, and give back in meaningful ways to strengthen WVU.

“This weekend will be a wonderful celebration of our alumni volunteers and all that they do for WVU,” said Stephen L. Douglas, president and CEO, WVU Alumni Association. “With the spring game, alumni activities and Mountaineer Parents Club Spring Family Weekend events for parents and students, it is an absolute great time to return to the WVU campus to celebrate our alma mater.”

Other weekend activities include the WVU Alumni Association’s University Chapter Books for Brews event on Friday night to benefit WVU Children’s Hospital, College of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences tribute to Brown v. the Board of Education decision, athletic events and much more. Visit the university calendar for a full list of activities.
