West Virginia University students and alumni are invited to attend the Career and Internship Fair to have an opportunity to speak to more than 120 different employers. The fair takes place on Wednesday and Thursday (Feb. 11-12) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Mountainlair Ballrooms.

Employers from across the country will be recruiting for summer internships and full-time employment opportunities for upcoming and recent graduates.

“HP will be recruiting for IT and computer science professionals, and Coca-Cola has opportunities in market development and account management. The Peace Corps is looking for service-minded students to fill international opportunities and Academy Programs is hiring case managers and counselors to work with at-risk youth in West Virginia,” said Sarah Rotruck Glenn, assistant director of the Career Services Center.

“Students should know that career fairs are not just information gathering events; in fact, many employers stay on-campus to interview students that they met at the fair.” Glenn said. “So students need to arrive ready to network – this includes dressing professionally, having a polished resume, and a 30 to 60 second elevator pitch ready to deliver.”

To encourage students to dress professionally, the Career Services Center is offering a LinkedIn photo booth at the fair. The formal portraits will be e-mailed to the students at no cost.
