West Virginia University jazz musicians will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 9, in the Gladys G. Davis Theatre of the Creative Arts Center.

Directed by faculty members Paul Scea and Craig Fraedrich, the concert is titled “The Music of Mardi Gras.”

The jazz program’s small jazz ensembles will play music ranging from traditional tunes such as “Bourbon Street Parade,” to “Cissy Strut” by The Meters.

According to Scea, who is director of Jazz Studies in the School of Music, all the songs have been arranged by WVU Jazz faculty member Craig Fraedrich.

The featured singer will be General McArthur Hambrick, assistant professor of dance from the School of Theatre and Dance.
