West Virginia University Provost Joyce McConnell announced today (Jan. 12) that Lynne Schrum has stepped down as dean of the College of Education and Human Services, effective immediately.

McConnell has appointed Gypsy Denzine, associate provost for community engagement and outreach, as dean of CEHS for a term as College faculty, staff and students assess strategic goals and future opportunities.

“I want to thank Dean Schrum for her service to the University, and I wish her well in her future pursuits,” McConnell said. “I look forward to working with Dr. Denzine and the College leadership to enhance our academic, clinical and research mission.”

The College of Education and Human Services is one of 15 schools and colleges at WVU. It has a full spectrum of degree programs housed in five academic divisions: Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling and Counseling Psychology; Curriculum and Instruction/Literacy Studies; Special Education; Communication Sciences and Disorders; and Learning Sciences and Human Development.
