The West Virginia University Symphonic Band will present a concert at the Creative Arts Center, Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 7:30 p.m. in the Lyell B. Clay Concert Theatre. The event celebrates Veterans Day.

All of the faculty and student conductors from the WVU Bands will be conducting on the program, including faculty members Dearl J. Drury, John Hendricks, III, and Christopher J. Nichter, as well as graduate student conductors Chelsea Corrao and Stephen Lane.

The Symphonic Band has approximately 50 members, comprised mostly of music majors from within the WVU School of Music. Membership is earned through audition. The group performs standard and contemporary wind literature.

Works on Nov. 11 program will include: “American Salute” by Morton Gould; “Each Time You Tell Their Story” by Samuel R. Hazo; “Concord” by Clare Grundman; “American Elegy” by Frank Ticheli; “Morning Alleluias” by Ron Nelson; “Midway March” by John Williams; “Parade of the Tall Ships” by WVU School of Music alumnus Jay Chattaway; and “God of Our Fathers” by Claude T. Smith.
