Those who will be attending West Virginia University Extension Service’s upcoming Community Leadership Academy can get helpful advice and details about the conference during Extension’s “Ask the WVU Extension Service Expert” online Q&A.

The session takes place on Wednesday (Sept. 17) from noon to one, on WVU Extension’s Facebook.

Participants can begin submitting questions for the session online on Monday (Sept. 15). Look for the “Ask in Advance” image on the Facebook page.

Staff members of WVU Extension’s Community Resources and Economic Development team will be available to answer questions and provide information about the upcoming Community Leadership Academy, which will be held Oct. 1-3 at Lakeview Resort in Morgantown.

“Leaders of all ages, experience levels and different backgrounds can network, grow and learn valuable leadership skills at the conference,” said Robin Frost, Community Resources and Economic Development program coordinator.

During the three-day event, attendees will hear from a variety of speakers, participate in educational breakout sessions from community experts and leaders and enjoy culinary creations from some of Morgantown’s finest restaurants during a culinary tour.

Two staff members and event organizers from Extension’s Community Resources and Economic Development program will answer attendee or prospective attendees’ questions.

Frost, one of the main organizers of the event, will be available to answer questions from event parking and registration, to breakout session topics and more. She will also be able to give more in-depth information about event details and logistics.

Mike Dougherty, an Extension professor and community planning specialist, will offer up answers to questions about the event, what guests can expect, and how they can prepare for the event.

The next Q&A will be on Wednesday (Sept. 24) and will cover information about Dining with Diabetes. Experts from Extension’s Families and Health program will answer questions about dining with diabetes and provide diabetes-conscious recipes.

Sessions will continue in September and periodically throughout the fall to cover topics about joining 4-H and more.
