FallFest, West Virginia University’s annual welcome back concert, celebrates its 20th year and the start of the 2014 Fall semester on Monday (Aug. 18). The concert, set to begin at 6:30 p.m. on the Mountainlair Plaza, will include performances by Kendrick Lamar, Dierks Bentley and MAGIC!.

Kendrick Lamar
Lamar returns to Morgantown after a sold-out performance in 2012, a year that saw him reach meteoric popularity with the release of his debut album “good kid, m.A.A.d city” which reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album earned massive nods from Pitchfork, The New York Times, MTV among others, and featured “Swimming Pool (Drank),” “B—-h Don’t Kill My Vibe” and “Backseat Freeystyle.”

Dierks Bentley
Seven albums into one of country music’s most-respected and most-unpredictable careers, award-winning singer/songwriter Bentley continues to grow. His latest evolution comes in the form of “Riser,” featuring hit songs “Bourbon in Kentucky” and “Drunk On A Plane.” The album has found critical and commercial success, landing at No. 6 on the Billboard 200, his seventh top-10 album.

MAGIC!
The “song of the summer” belongs to MAGIC! The reggae-fusion band has dominated the airwaves with its love-struck ballad “Rude,” which holds the No. 1 position on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. Their sound distills Caribbean flavor, arena-size bombast and glistening melodies into an undeniably intoxicating musical potion.

Please note: the Mountainlair will be closed from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. A special tent will be set up in front of the Mountainlair beginning at 6 p.m. to assist WVU students with ID questions.

The one guest per WVU student must obtain a guest ticket at the tent in front of the Mountainlair. This tent is accessible through the Stewart Hall stairs entrance.

Food, soft drinks and water will be available on the Mountainlair Plaza.
