West Virginia University Extension Service’s “Ask the WVU Extension Expert” session on Wednesday (May 28) can help the novice or experienced gardener alike with topics including gardening, lawn care and common lawn and garden insects during a live Q&A session.

The session will take place online from noon-1 p.m. on WVU Extension Service’s Facebook page.

This session marks the end of the “Ask the WVU Extension Expert” spring series. The sessions will return in August with topics on canning, back-to-school tips and more.

As always during the session, experts will answer user-submitted questions and provide trusted information and advice from deep-rooted knowledge, decades of experience and fact-based, University research.

WVU Extension Service’s Agriculture and Natural Resources Program Director Jennifer Williams will be available to answer questions relating to all things agriculture.

Worried about insects in the garden or home? Daniel Frank, WVU Extension entomology specialist, can answer questions about common insects found in your garden and around the house. Frank can offer tips to help prevent damaging insects’ presence, and help identify beneficial ones.

John Porter, WVU Extension Service Kanawha County Agriculture and Natural Resources agent, can help you think outside the box with raised gardens and urban gardening techniques.

With more than 40 years of experience in consumer horticulture, and an extensive background in landscape and commercial fruit production, WVU Extension’s Consumer Horticulture Specialist Mira Bulatovic-Danilovich has seen plants of all varieties, and can give advice on choosing the best ones for specific applications.
