The Office of International Students and Scholars at West Virginia University will host the 2014 Immigration Seminar from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday (April 7), in Room 2001 of the Agricultural Science Building.

The seminar is designed to help international students, scholars and community members receive information on immigration policies, resources and employment opportunities. Presenters will include Douglas Halpert, attorney at law, and Doina Jikich, associate director of Office of International Students and Scholars.

Halpert is a partner at the law firm Hammond Law Group, LLC in Cincinnati, Ohio. He received his J.D. degree from the Fordham University School of Law in 1988. He has focused his practices exclusively on immigration and nationality law for more than 23 years.

Jikich graduated with a law degree from the University of Bucharest, Romania, and a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of North Florida. At WVU, Jikich advises international students and scholars as well as academic and administrative departments on employment-based immigration matters.

Following the morning seminar, attendees will have the opportunity to sign up for one-on-one consultation with Halpert. Refreshments will be provided, and the seminar is open to all WVU international students, scholars, faculty, staff and the general public.
