With graduation and summer internships just around the corner for many West Virginia University students, the Career Services Center is offering a unique opportunity for students to polish their professional development skills with a Mocktail Party & Fashion Show on Wednesday, Feb. 26.

The event will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bent Willey’s on Chestnut Street and will give students the opportunity to meet with business professionals while expanding their networking and job search skills.

“Students will leave the event with first-hand knowledge of what recruiters are looking for in college graduates,” said Rachael Conrad, employer relations specialist with WVU Career Services Center. “They will also learn how to differentiate between the types of attire appropriate in business settings.”

To help showcase those attire options, the Career Services Center is partnering with the WVU Fashion Business Association.

While the first half of the event will focus on networking skills, the second half will feature a fashion show showcasing several professional attire options for men and women.

“There will be three looks for both males and females including business professional, business casual and interview,” explained Kaitlyn Campbell, president of FBA and fashion design and merchandising student in the Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design.

The event is open to all students; however, seating is limited to the first 150 students registered. In order to attend, students must RSVP on MountaineerTRAK by searching under the “Career Fairs and Events” option.

Light appetizers will be served, and there will be prizes drawn for students in attendance.
