To help spread awareness of global hunger issues and encourage students to join the conversation, the HungerU Tour will visit West Virginia University at the invitation of the Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design Student Council.

On Sept. 26-27, the HungerU 40-foot x 40-foot mobile education classroom will be in front of the Evansdale Campus Greenhouse from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Thursday and Friday, Sept. 26 and 27, encouraging students to stop and talk about the global hunger challenge and solutions to feeding the world.

“Hunger is a huge issue today and it is only going to get bigger in the coming decades. To provide the world more food with fewer resources, we will have to rely on farming methods and technologies that allow farmers to grow more food for more people in healthy, sustainable ways,” said Margie Alsbrook, Director of Operations for the Farm Journal Foundation. “We strive to create a friendly and accessible environment for students to converse with their peers about these tough issues.”

The HungerU Fall 2013 Tour features a mobile education exhibit, complete with large, flat-screen digital displays and interactive kiosks. This mobile classroom is designed to provide a welcoming space for conversations on global food issues and the critical role modern agricultural practices will play in addressing them.

HungerU is a special project of the Farm Journal Foundation’s Farmers Feeding the World effort made possible by support from the Foundation’s sponsors including DuPont. For more information, please visit www.hungerU.com.
