West Virginia University will help celebrate the area’s diverse and inclusive community Friday (Sept. 27) when it co-hosts the 2013 International Festival.

WVU joins BoPARC and the City of Morgantown in hosting the festival, which runs from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Hazel Ruby McQuain Amphitheatre & Riverfront Park in Morgantown.

The day is split in half for two different audiences. From 10 a.m.–1 p.m., get the chance to tell area school children all about your culture with song, dance, activities, informational booths and food. More than 350 grade-schoolers will attend the festival that morning to study international culture, hear local ghost stories, watch short films and taste new flavors of cuisine. If your student or community organization wants to get involved, visit www.boparc.org or email grace.atebe@mail.wvu.edu.

From 1–4 p.m., high school and college students and the community are invited to explore the festival – its booths, activities and performances. The festival is free and open to the public.

To find out what cultures will be represented, what local restaurants will feature ethnic cuisine or to get involved, visit www.boparc.org or email grace.atebe@mail.wvu.edu.
