West Virginia University’s Student Conduct Code anticipates that WVU students will adhere to all laws and regulations, and provides for swift disciplinary action when unlawful acts are committed. Even before they arrive on campus, students are reminded that inappropriate behavior brings consequences—and especially at the start of the academic year, this message is delivered again and again in organizational meetings, new student and parent orientations, floor meetings in residence halls, during First Year Academy, through student e-mail accounts, social media, advertisements in The Daily Athenaeum, forums with University and City Police, and others.

In addition to any criminal penalties, fines and punishments, any student involved in the vandalism and fires set this weekend will face school disciplinary procedures up to and including expulsion. While we are prevented from discussing specifics when it comes to student disciplinary actions, there will be consequences for those involved.
