West Virginia University will be hosting a Hawaiian luau on May 29 as part of the Mountainlair’s summer programming for students taking classes during the summer session.

There will be free food, a number of games and prizes of up to $250 offered to students from 4-6 p.m. on May 29 on the Mountainlair Plaza. The inclement weather location is set for the first floor of the Mountainlair.

U92, WVU’s student radio station, will be broadcasting live while students enjoy pork sliders, Hawaiian coleslaw, fruit, vegetables, Hawaiian punch and “mocktails” at the Tiki bar.

There will be gifts for the first 200 students of WVU-branded merchandise that has been donated by Extended Learning, the College of Business and Economics, the College of Physical Activity and Sport Science, the School of Nursing, the College of Education and Human Services, the Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources, Adventure WV and many others.

As part of the Hawaiian luau, teams consisting of two students each are encouraged to sign up for the Mountaineer Games. The teams will be participating in different events including a mini-obstacle course to win a prize package valued at $250. To register, email Sonja.Wilson@mail.wvu.edu.
