The West Virginia University Department of World Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics is sponsoring the seventh annual Spring Spectacular on Friday, April 19, from 6-8:30 p.m. at the historic Metropolitan Theatre on High Street.
The event is free and open to the public.
This annual extravaganza showcases the diversity of language and cultural study in the Department of World Languages, Literatures and Linguistics, as well as the creativity of students in the department.
Students have prepared skits, songs, dances, and other presentations to express the enjoyment of studying another language and culture. Nigel Clark, associate vice president for strategic planning, will host the evening.
The organizers will be collecting donations of non-perishable food or money for the Rack, the on-campus organization that offers food to disadvantaged students.
“Come see our talented students, enjoy an evening of fun and entertainment, and support a worthy cause,” said Lisa DiBartolomeo, organizer of the event and professor of Russian and Slavic languages and cultures.
