Several compositions by students in the West Virginia University School of Music will be featured during a New Music Concert at the Creative Arts Center, Tuesday, April 9.

The free event begins at 8:15 p.m. in the Bloch Learning and Performance Hall (200A) and will feature works by Taylor Roegner, Timothy Kowalski, G. Scott Jones and Christopher Jones. All the students study with WVU Composer-in-Residence John Beall.

The program will feature “Sycamores and Katydids” by Taylor Roegner; “Nocturne for Solo Violoncello” by Christopher Jones; “Sonata No. 1 for Bass Trombone and Piano” by G. Scott Jones; and following intermission, “Epistemology” by Timothy Kowalski; and “The Traveler: Concerto for Horn and Chamber Orchestra” by G. Scott Jones.
