The West Virginia University Chamber Winds ensemble, conducted by John Weigand, will present a spring concert at the Creative Arts Center, Monday, March 18.

The event begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Gladys G. Davis Theatre and is free and open to the public.

The program will feature “Overture to The Impresario, K. 486” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791); “Octet in E Flat Major, Op. 103” by Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827); and following a brief intermission, “Hungarian Dances” by Johannes Brahms (1833-1897) and “Serenade Op. 43” by Emil Hartmann (1836-1898).

Students performing include flutist Alyssa Schwartz; oboists Jamal Davidson, Evan Klein and Stephen Oswald; clarinetists Chris Bowmaster, Jessica DeVaney, Cody Dixon, Julie Hollis and Matt Pitts; bassoonists Ida Cawley, Lauren LaPoint and Mark Lefever; hornists Monica Hambrick and Ryan Scott; cellist Sarah Beattie; and bassist Chris Byrne.
