West Virginia University’s College of Education and Human Services will hold its 2013 Student Research Forum from 1-2:30 p.m. Friday, April 5 on the sixth floor of Allen Hall.

Sponsored by the CEHS Committee on Research, Service & Professional Development, the forum features poster presentations from undergraduate and graduate level students. Each entry is challenged with presenting an area of research in which students feel they have achieved a high degree of learning and accomplishment. Students may also collaborate with faculty to enhance their research.

The RSPD committee will recognize three top posters for quality research based on ratings and comments from guest judges. Prizes are $300 for first place, $200 for second place, and $100 for third place. Forum judges will include CEHS Dean Lynne Schrum, Dr. Kenneth St. Louis, and other faculty of the college.

“The RSPD Committee is pleased to again sponsor this event, which is designed to build our intellectual community by sharing students’ current projects across all CEHS disciplines and research traditions,” said Melissa Sherfinski, assistant professor in the Curriculum and Instruction/Literacy Studies Department.

The event will provide students with the opportunity to promote their research among WVU faculty, staff, and their peers. The 2012 Research Forum had more than 25 student entries.

Proposals must be submitted to Cathleen Falvey at Cathleen.Falvey@mail.wvu.edu, by 4 p.m. Saturday, March 16.
