Four projects by West Virginia University’s Division of University Relations around 2012 Commencement have been recognized by the 2013 AVA Digital Awards.

AVA Awards is an international competition administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals that seeks outstanding production of audio, video and interactive websites and social media.

All four WVU projects were part of the Memories website, a celebration of the 2012 Commencement and the graduates that WVU sent out into the world.

Awards went to:

  • What we hold dear: Morgantown has changed—A platinum award, the highest honor, for a video production by an educational institution. The video features a look at historic or iconic locations on campus past and present.
  • The Memories.wvu.edu website – A gold award for creativity in web design/social media site.
  • The Last 30 Steps – A gold award for a video production by an educational institution. The video captures the final steps taken as college students.
  • WVU’s Class of 2012 is Looking Good – An honorable mention for a video production by an educational institution. The light-hearted video featured graduates displaying their original student IDs.

The Memories website and “Morgantown has changed” video also previously received platinum Marcom awards.
