Awe-inspiring acrobatics will thrill the Morgantown audience as the Off-Broadway sensation “Traces” comes to the West Virginia University Creative Arts Center Wednesday, Feb. 13.

Showtime is set for 7:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at the Mountainlair and Creative Arts Center box offices, online at ticketmaster.com, or by calling 304-293-SHOW or 800-745-3000.

Stripping away everything you thought you knew about the circus, “Traces” fuses tradition with the energy of street performance to create an explosive display of emotion and physicality set to the music of Radiohead, VAST, Blackalicious and more.

“Traces” focuses more on the abilities of the performers over spectacle, creating an unforgettable show with a fantastic group of performers. Individuals who appear to be nothing more than a group of friends, just as easygoing, affable and potentially clumsy as the guy next door—until they unleash 90 minutes of heart-stopping acrobatics and unbridled energy that leave audiences breathless and exhilarated.

In 2011, Traces wowed millions of viewers while performing on “America’s Got Talent.” Entertainment Weekly called the show “pulse-pounding, electric, and immensely entertaining, ‘Traces’ imbues jaw-dropping Cirque du Soleil-style acrobatics with a current, youthful edge. The cast is impossibly charming, funny, attractive, and multi-talented … They don’t just dance and perform unbelievable tricks—they write and sing love songs, play instruments, skateboard, dunk basketballs into human hoops, and tell jokes.”

Tickets are on sale now and range from $38 to $58, depending on seat location. WVU student tickets are $28 with a valid WVU ID at the campus box offices (one discounted ticket per valid ID). Tickets may be purchased at the Mountainlair and Creative Arts Center box offices, online at ticketmaster.com, or by calling 304-293-SHOW or 800-745-3000.
