West Virginia University’s College of Law Sports and Entertainment Law Society will host an event by the National Comedy Theatre Friday, Nov. 9, at 7:30 p.m. at the Monongalia Arts Center on High Street.

National Comedy Theatre is a troupe of improvisational comedians, who perform a series of games and scenes based on the audience’s suggestions. The troupe’s benefit performance will be appropriate for all ages, and anyone in Morgantown is encouraged to attend.

All proceeds from the event will benefit “Angel’s Perch,” a feature film produced in Cass, W.Va., and in partnership with the West Virginia Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. WVU Law’s students, alumni and faculty, have provided legal services to the film.

Currently in post-production, “Angel’s Perch” stars Joyce Van Patten and Ally Walker. Screenwriter and co-producer J.T. Arbogast also stars in the film. Proceeds from the National Comedy Theatre event will assist funding the film’s soundtrack and submission to film festivals in 2013.

A cash bar and ticket auction will start the event at 6:30 p.m., with the performance following at 7:30 p.m. General admission is $25, while a Date Night package is $75. The package includes the open bar and premium seating. Tickets can be purchased online at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/286998.
