West Virginia University’s Rakesh Gupta, George B. and Carolyn A. Berry Professor and chair of the Department of Chemical Engineering, and Daniel Della-Giustina, professor of industrial and management systems engineering, recently published textbooks in their respective fields of study.
Gupta is the co-editor with Prithu Mukhopadhyay, IPEX Technologies Inc., of Graphite, Graphene, and Their Polymer Nanocomposites, which was published in October. The book covers the entire spectrum of graphene-based materials topics and provides a point of departure for future polymer-based nanocomposites research.
According to Dr. Vassilios Galiatsatos, a Fellow of the Society of Plastics Engineers with the Leibniz Institute of Polymer Research Dresden, Germany, “The book is very comprehensive—written by internationally known researchers. It covers fundamentally important aspects, starting from graphite, moving on to graphene, and then to their polymer nanocomposites. The authors have done a great job in distilling their work for their respective chapters. This is a reference work that should find its place among its peers in a scientific library.”
Della-Giustina is the author of Motor Fleet Safety and Security Management, which was published in May. Now in its second edition, the book provides an understanding of how to develop and manage a comprehensive motor fleet safety and instructional program. It addresses the critical steps for successful driver selection, training, instruction and supervision, as well as accident prevention, small fleet considerations, vehicle inspection, organization of accident data, job safety analysis, fleet transportation publicity, school bus safety, hazardous material shipping and storage, and transportation security.
This is Della-Giustina’s 17th textbook.
Both textbooks were published by CRC Press.
