The West Virginia University Symphonic Band, a 45-member ensemble comprised of students who are music majors at WVU, will present a concert at the Creative Arts Center, Monday, Nov. 5, at 7:30 p.m. in the Lyell B. Clay Concert Theatre.
It will be conducted by Dearl J. Drury, John Hendricks III, Christopher J. Nichter and Johnny Leonard, III.
Works on the program include: “Where Never Lark or Eagle Flew,” by James Curnow; “Sheltering Sky,” by John Mackey; “Blue and White Dance,” by Andrew Boysen, Jr.; “Serenade and Dance,” by Claude T. Smith; “Dance Movements” by Philip Sparke; “Ballad for Band” by Morton Gould; “Three Chorale Preludes” by William P. Latham; Symphony No. 3 “Slavyanskaya” by Boris Kozhevnikov; and “Kanawha to Main,” by Richard Lawson.
