West Virginia University will be holding Mountaineer Week Challenge the week of Oct. 26 through Nov. 4.
A different challenge will take place each day of the week. Teams can participate to receive points to go toward their overall score.
On Friday (Oct. 26), “Fireside Chats with former Mountaineer Mascots” will be taking place in the Mountainlair Vandalia Lounge. The event will be taking place from 7-9 p.m.
The Mountaineers Run United race will be taking place on Saturday (Oct. 27). The race will begin in front on the Mountainlair and will end at the football stadium. This year, participants can do as many as 60 push-ups to receive up to six minutes off of their time. The race begins at 10 a.m. To sign up, participants can go to http://unitedway.wvu.edu/5k-walkrun.
Teams of four members can participate in the scavenger hunt, which takes place on Sunday (Oct. 28). Registration will be held in the Vandalia Lounge at 1 p.m., and the event will last for three hours.
On Monday (Oct. 29), the PRT cram will be held outside of the Mountainlair. The cram begins at noon and ends at 2 p.m.
The Mountaineer Challenge Games will be held in the Mountainlair Ballrooms on Monday (Oct. 29) at 7 p.m.
On Tuesday (Oct. 30), there will be a Health and Wellness Expo. The event will be held on the first floor of the Mountainlair at 10 a.m.
To end the week, participants that have been growing their beards will see who wins. The beard shaving finals will begin at noon on Oct. 31.
Mountaineer Week is WVU’s annual celebration of Appalachian history and culture that takes place from Oct. 26 through Nov. 4 this year.
