This year, Mountaineer Week has teamed up with the United Way to hold the second Mountaineers Run United on Saturday (Oct. 27) at 10 a.m.
The race, which is four miles long, begins at the Mountainlair and ends inside of Milan Puskar Stadium. This year, the race will include the “Mountaineer Challenge”, which will begin before the race. Participants can do 60 push-ups and receive 10 seconds off per push-up, resulting in six minutes off their finish time.
While pre-registration has been completed, registration will also be available on the day of the race from 9–10:30 a.m. for $30 per person.

Participants can park for free in the Law School parking lot and shuttles will take them to the Mountainlair for the start of the race. Participants will also find additional parking around the football stadium.
Awards will be given out to the top male and female in each division and top male and female for the overall competition.
Mountaineer Week is West Virginia University’s annual celebration of Appalachian history and culture that takes place from Oct. 26 through Nov. 4 this year.
