The West Virginia University Chamber Winds, conducted by music professor John Weigand, will present a concert at the Creative Arts Center, Tuesday, Oct. 16.

The event begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Gladys G. Davis Theatre and is free and open to the public.

The first half of the program will include “Divertissement pour instruments � vent, Opus 36” by Emile Bernard (1868-1941).

Following a brief intermission, the ensemble will perform “Octet, Opus 216” by Carl Reinecke (1824-1910) and “Serenade for Winds, Opus 7” by Richard Strauss (1864-1949).

Members of the Chamber Winds include students Mirim Lee, Amy Schatzer and Alyssa Schwartz (flutes); Jessica DeVaney, Chris Bowmaster, Cody Dixon and Julie Hollis (clarinets); Jamal Davidson, Evan Klein and Stephen Oswald (oboes); Ida Cawley, Lauren LaPoint and Mark Lefever (bassoons); and Monica Hambrick, Emily Norwood, Ryan Scott and Morgan Shepherd (horns).
