The West Virginia University Oboe Studio will present a recital at the Creative Arts Center, Sunday, Oct. 7, at 3 p.m. in the Bloch Learning and Performance Hall (200A). The event is free and open to the public.

The title of the program is “Prelude to Paris.”

According to Cynthia Anderson, oboe professor, this performance is in anticipation of the Oboe Studio’s upcoming trip to Paris in November 2012, where they will extend their education on the history of the oboe.

The students will be performing works for oboe by French composers, including Francaix, Saint-Saens, Poulenc, Debussy, Bizet, Lefebvre, and Busser.

Artwork by French painters will also be displayed as the students perform.
