West Virginia University will host its annual Study Abroad Fair Wednesday, Oct. 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the WVU Mountainlair Blue & Gold Ballrooms. The event provides students with the initial contacts and information that have led students on their journey.

According to the Office of International Programs, more than 800 WVU students traveled to another country for study abroad courses in 2011-2012.

The Study Abroad Fair offers students a chance to discover opportunities and gather information from a range of study abroad representatives. It features 58 faculty-led spring and summer programs, and 40 different WVU study abroad exchanges. Table displays will feature information, photos, facts, videos, brochures, and catalogues to help students better understand the programs. Local travel agencies and University staff will be available provide information on financial aid, travel arrangements, health insurance, foreign health requirements, and cultural activities.

The WVU study abroad network is worldwide, and has programs in: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Denmark, Fiji, France, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Malawi, Mexico, Morocco, Northern Ireland, Czech Republic, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, Tanzania, Trinidad-Tobago, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and Vietnam.

The Office of International Programs has a Study Abroad Resource Room on the downtown campus at 336 Stansbury Hall (third floor) that offers an array of study abroad resources.
