West Virginia University Police are asking for help in gathering information on an attack of a student shortly after 3 a.m. Wednesday.

Police said a lone male student was attacked from behind and was repeatedly kicked in the face and head causing injuries. He is currently in stable condition. The attack occurred near the intersection of Campus Drive and University Avenue.

The main assailant was described as a college-aged, blond-haired white male, approximately 5-feet-10. At the time of the attack, he was reported to be wearing shorts and neon green cowboy boots.

Two other males were also reported present at the scene.
