Internationally renowned talent management industry executive and West Virginia University alumnus Robert McNabb was elected to the WVU Foundation Board of Directors at its annual meeting Saturday, Aug. 11.

McNabb, of Houston, is currently executive vice president of Korn/Ferry International and sits on the Global Operating Committee. He is responsible for the institutionalization of Korn/Ferry’s go-to-market strategy, and his focus is to drive the transformation of Korn/Ferry into the world’s premier talent management organization.

A Charleston native and 1970 graduate of the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences, McNabb previously was the CEO of Futurestep, Korn/Ferry International’s global outsourcing business. Prior to joining Korn/Ferry in 2001, McNabb was president and CEO of Corestaff Services. Previously, he was a senior executive officer with Kelly Services.

In February, McNabb was inducted into the WVU Alumni Association’s Academy of Distinguished Alumni. He will serve a three-year term on the Foundation board.

In other business, Robert Reynolds (‘74, ‘07 Hon.) of Boston, president & CEO of Putnam Investments, was elected board chairman. He has been a member of the WVU Foundation Board of Directors since 2003. Gary Pell (‘73) of Myrtle Beach, S.C., was elected vice chair. Re-elected secretary was Marcia Broughton (‘76, ‘79) of Clarksburg, an attorney with the law firm of Jackson Kelly PLLC. Joan Corson Stamp (‘73) of Wheeling will serve again as assistant secretary. All will serve one-year terms.

Directors re-elected to three-year terms include Susan Brewer of Morgantown; Broughton; John Gianola (‘75) of Charleston.; Peter Kalis (‘72) of Pittsburgh.; Pell; Reynolds; and Doug Van Scoy (‘66, ‘68) of Sullivan’s Island, S.C. Stamp was re-elected to a one-year term.

The board recognized outgoing board chairman Verl Purdy (‘64, ‘09 Hon.) of Charlotte, N.C., president of Cadrillion Capital, for his commitment and service. Purdy is completing a two-year term as chair. He will remain on the board.

The WVU Foundation is a private, nonprofit corporation that generates, receives and administers private gifts for the benefit of WVU. In June, the Foundation publically launched its largest private fundraising campaign in the history of the University. “A State of Minds: The Campaign for West Virginia’s University” hopes to raise $750 million by December 2015.
