What better way to recognize your business school’s graduates than to celebrate their successes?

That was the thinking last year when the West Virginia University College of Business and Economics created its Roll of Distinguished Alumni. B&E is accepting nominations of individuals for induction through Aug. 10. An induction ceremony will be held Homecoming Weekend on Sept. 28 in Morgantown.

Dr. Jose Sartarelli, Milan Puskar Dean, WVU College of Business and Economics, said B&E graduates have been successful in a number of career areas through the U.S. and around the world, and the Roll of Distinguished Alumni honors those individuals for their work.

“B&E has helped mold countless careers in business, academia and government,” said Sartarelli. “The impact our graduates have had on the world is tremendous, and the Roll of Distinguished Alumni is a great way to celebrate the success they have had in their respective careers.”

The Roll of Distinguished Alumni was created last year in conjunction with B&E’s 60th Anniversary Celebration. Inaugural inductees last year included Joseph E. Antonini, Phyllis H. Arnold, J. Michael Bodnar, William T. Bright, Earl G. “Ken” Kendrick, William T. McLaughlin II, and Fred T. Tattersall.

Nominated individuals must be B&E alumni, must be 10 years post-degree and must have distinguished themselves by success in business or life at the regional, national or international level.

“I have told countless students that I hope B&E gets to honor them in the Roll of Distinguished Alumni someday,” Sartarelli said. “I remind them that the people we honored last year and will honor this year were once students just like them.”

“The alumni we honor have demonstrated the tremendous opportunity for success. We work very hard to provide students access to people who are great role models, and these successful people inspire us all,” he said. “The fact that those who are honored in the Roll of Distinguished Alumni are B&E graduates makes this recognition very, very special.”
