The West Virginia University Dance Program is presenting an informal concert at the Creative Arts Center called “A Celebration of Dance,” Friday, Dec. 9. The event is a culmination of this semester’s creative work by 12 choreographers and 41 dancers from the program.

There will be two performances—at 7 p.m. and at 9 p.m.—in the Antoinette Falbo Theatre at the CAC. Seating is general admission and all tickets are $9.

”’A Celebration of Dance!’ will also feature a sneak preview of our new Masterworks initiative,” said Yoav Kaddar, director of the Dance Program. “Students will perform work in progress, featuring ‘Aureole’ by American master choreographer Paul Taylor. The complete and fully produced dance will be the centerpiece of our spring concert, ‘Dance Now!’ to be held February 2-4 at the Creative Arts Center.”

”’A Celebration of Dance,’ true to its title, celebrates the creativity of our students and brings a joyous and festive ending to a productive semester in the Dance Program,” he said. “Come and enjoy some wonderful energy and passion by our student dancers, which is bound to put you in the warm spirit for the holidays.”

Tickets for the dance concert may be purchased by calling (304) 293-SHOW or visiting the WVU Box Office at the Mountainlair or the Creative Arts Center. They are also available through Ticketmaster outlets, or by visiting
